I will admit to a certain amount of bias regarding this project because Peter Eisenman is a hero of mine. But if you take a look at his work here, I bet you′ll love it as a much as I do. Eisenman′s City of Culture isn′t just built on top of a mountain, it′s built to be an extension of the mountain. The design, in a very Eisenman way, is based on the history of the old city that stood on that exact spot. The curve of a particular structure may, for example, run along the same lines of the ancient city road that was once found there. So, as he is building up the top of this mountain, Eisenman is also resurrecting this historical city. This attention to detail is what makes Eisenman′s work in genergal so remarkable and this project in particular such a wonderful way to house art and culture.
